new running gear
after the unfortunate incident last Sept, i was barred from exercising or exert my body during a 3-month period. despite that, i managed to complete 1 10km nike KL city run, with a less than desired time of 1 hour 24 mins. afraid that the production line will resume its operations, i stopped signing up for new runs in 2012.
my first run was the 2xu, followed by the nike goddess run, and subsequently the other runs followed. stepping into the next chapter of my family line would have to wait till the end of this year.
the most notable runs for this year, would have to be my 1st 21km run in GE Women’s Run, followed by the Half-Marathon Penang Bridge Run in the week after the GE run. i’d handled 10km runs in consecutive weeks for the past 2 years, and increasing it to 21km is just a matter of time. i would love to complete at least one full marathon before i reach 40.
i gladly tagged along with my colleagues for their sundown race pack collection, and bought a polar rcx5 to aid in me in my running journey. the original retail price was $619 but sold at $499 only during the run swim bike expo period.
i was initially considering the wahoo run/gym pack for iphone, which comes with a heart rate monitor strap. ever since the upgrade to iOS 5, the battery life on my iphone 4 deteriorates, and a short 5km run will drain the battery by 30%.
can’t wait to use it for my first training run next week!
