punggol waterway run
my sore and dry throat had been bothering me for the past week, and went away miraculously, after a short jog 2 days ago. just when i thought i’m good for the waterway passion active run, i had a running and block nose a day before!
popped 2 pills before i slept and woke up, faced with a dilemma to run or not to run.
the weather was cloudy, and despite the narrow path, i can hardly feel the heat. i lost count of the number of hydration stations, since bottled water were issued at the very first hydration station. only the last hydration station issued isotonic drinks, and was pleasing surprised that each runner was given a bottle of non-chilled h-two-o. the only cold isotonic drink was issued at the finishing line.
personally, i would have preferred paper cups, even though it is not environmentally friendly, and would have resulted in more trash in the park. generally, runners would take a sip or two, and for me, i prefer my hands to be free during my runs. i spotted a few bottles, less than half consumed, threw on the sides or left on the benches.
most of my training runs were concentrated within the vicinity of red bridge towards lor halus and punggol park. i’m glad to finally have the opportunity to explore beyond the 2nd bridge towards punggol mrt.
