sculpt run 12K women’s run
the sculpt run was the latest addition to an all-women’s run, and the first (besides the shape run) to include male pacers. the male pacer would have to be registered under the name of the sculpt participant. for a mere registration fee of $15, the male pacer is entitled to the race pack, excluding the bib tag.
less than 3km into the race, i felt like i just came out of the shower. my heartbeat rate per minute was raising like crazy, and despite carrying my hydration bottle with me, i took the cold water from the stations to cool myself down.
the route was relatively flat with very slight gradient when approaching the food center, and wasn’t too overcrowded with the sunday joggers or cyclists. hydration stations were situated comfortably at about 2.5km apart. sports isotonic drinks were dispensed only at the finishing line.
distance markers for both 6km and 12km, and u-turn points were well positioned. and that’s the first time i kept a lookout for them, without the runkeeper to keep track on the distance covered.
i defied the negative ions released from my body, and chose to complete the race this morning. the consequences – fever, blocked nose and sudden bouts of cough.
seriously, i do not want to fall sick again, the day before race day.
