up early for a good cause

we signed up for the “walk for our children 2012” at the JLR carnival. the free walkathon is an annual event to help raise funds for the singapore children society. the theme for this year’s event is “jack and the beanstalk”, featuring a 5-storey tall balloon beanstalk with a castle in the air.

the sun was already high up in the sky when we arrived at the venue at 8.30 am. without a clue on the start time of the walk, we started our jog around the park first.

the carnival stalls sell food, drinks, handicrafts and offer games for the young kids with the use of coupons. each coupon has a $10 value, and every 2 coupons purchased will entitle you to a goodie bag plus an umbrella.

our contribution? 1 set of mario and liugi hat, 4 drinks and 3 packs of tidbits. 🙂
