upgraded to os x 10.8 mountain lion

the entire download and installation process took about 1.5 hours. i held on to the upgrade of the lion and was relieved the minimum upgrade to ML is os x 10.6.8.

the activation of icloud will require to use the sign-in name of an email address. i recalled the mess up of my apple id username and email address, and skipped the icloud setup step. the idea of integrating the iphone, ipad and mac seems appealing, but the single authentication just puts me off, especially after reading on the devastation caused by the hack on gizmodo.

i have only used the imessage, and yet to explore the other new features. what matters most is, the existing apps work without glitches.
