trail . sand . road – running is 90% mental, 100% real

with 3 races today, it’s sort of a blessing in disguise, as most of the runners will attend the nike run. this is my first participation since the change on the trail and beach distance from the previous year.

the weather was great, with cool wind and light drizzle. the bottleneck encountered were mostly in the trail section, where runners had to dodge the muddy patches, and in some places, running came to a complete halt. hydration points located comfortably in every 2 km, and served both chilled plain water and 100plus.

the rain from the previous day did help to “compact” the sand, and i find running on the beach to be easier than before.

i do miss the air-conditioned convention center for the collection of the finisher tee and medal. nevertheless, the wait for the xxs/xs queue wasn’t long, as compared to the other lanes. runners were treated to massages, jacob biscuits, bananas, 100plus and water at the race carnival.

the queue at the photo booth was surprisingly short, and a pair of shoes laces were given out after the photo shoot. i would have prefer a printout of the photo.

the highlight of the event…lucky draw!! and yes, i was the 4th prize lucky winner!
