the telemarketer and the ringer

i dislike telemarketers and usually reject them politely. some of them are very persistent but i hardly receive consecutive calls from them, except for one from SC (called twice last week), which i finally picked up today.

telemarketer: hello, are you [so and so]. i am calling from [so and so]. is it convenient to speak to you now?
me: actually no…may i know what is it regarding?
telemarketer: [trying to sell me this credit card…free subscription…blah blah]
me: sorry, i am not interested to have another credit card.
telemarketer: do you have any friends who might be interested…blah blah
me: i don’t think so and i doubt they will be interested.
telemarketer: [a few words of thanks…blah blah]

then come the interesting part:

telemarketer: may i know what’s the ringer?
me: come again??!! *scratch head*
telemarketer: what’s your ringer…the name of the ringer?
me: ohh…the song when you called?!
telemarketer: yes, the ringer…
me: *haha* sitting right here. the name of the song. *haha*
telemarketer: ok, thank you. i will look for the song.
me: ok *haha*
telemarketer: thank you and have a nice day.

maybe that’s the reason why he called twice last week, just to listen to the ringer. my vendor did it once for his kids too, when i had “bad day” as the bye-bye ringtone.
