the bricks, death star, and technical glitch
our latest visit to the legoland was to view the latest death star miniland, and to check out the dinner buffet. the death star installation in miniland is a temporary fixture, which made it’s first debut in Malaysia. after that, it would be dissembled and displayed at other legoland theme parks in Denmark, Germany, Britain, California and Florida.
accompanying the main death star feature are models and displays of obi-wan kenobi, darth vader, x-wing fighter, the emperor’s throne room, garbage masher and trench run.
the 6 meters tall death star is made up of 723,150 pieces of lego bricks.
the theme park wasn’t crowded as anticipated, and we took the adventure ride twice, without long waiting times. we would have enjoyed the 4d chima movie, with lots of cold foam and water, if not for a technical glitch towards the middle of the show.
the technical glitch was compensated with a photo with the chima lego character. the dinner buffet was fully booked by 5 pm, and we left before sunset, therefore, missing the laser beam and glow-in-the-dark tiles from the death star.
our next visit would have to wait till either the completion of the lego hotel or the release of the new series 11 minifigures.
