run for charity – frost the trail
frost the trail, is a corporate charity run organized by frost and sullivan. the venue for the event was changed from macritchie reservoir park to singapore island country club. however, the macritchie nature trail was part of the 10 km trail, while the 5 km covered the teratang trail and sime track.
we were blessed with good weather throughout the run, and it rained briefly while we were treated to a buffet brunch.
seriously, i wonder how i managed to complete the macritchie cross country run in my normal white school shoes, back in my secondary school days. most parts of the trail are covered with uneven rocks and small stones, and i slipped in a few occasions. thankfully, i didn’t suffer from ankle or knee injuries.
the organizers could have taken the uneven surfaces, including the uphill and downhill slopes, into consideration. therefore the total distance measured on runkeeper and nike+ are both less than 5 km. i could have clocked in a better finishing time, then again my sparkling moment was when i won the lucky draw.
thank you frost & sullivan, and most importantly the generosity from my company in support of the charity run.
