race of the century

on this day, oct 10 2010, 830 couples will be pledging their eternal love and commitment. i, on the other hand, is one of the finisher for the 10km run of the century within the vicinity of bedok reservoir.

the trail is relatively flat with slight elevations which does not exceed more than 100 meters. water points, as anticipated, had been limited to 3, which was fine since there were isotonic drinks in all stations. however, late runners were issued the entire bottle of mineral water due to a shortage of paper cups.

the refreshing rain in the early morning did help to cool down the atmosphere and i completed the run in an unideal time of 1:22:43. compared to micoach on iphone, the runkeeper produces a more accurate gps tracking and monitoring.

the race next week shall be another challenge for me as i will be facing my nemesis – 4 km of xtrail, 0.6 km sand trail.
