ocbc cycle singapore 2011
i enjoy the challenge of photographing sports and events. photographing cyclists prove to be tougher than runners, no doubt, a good training ground to capture fast moving objects. the early afternoon sun was scorching hot, thus the iso was kept to a low 200 with aperture ranging between f2.8 to f3.5 (yes, i shot in Av mode). the participants in the women’s and master open criterium were practicing on the circuit before the first flag off.
a respite from the training – take the taken.
the weather started to cool down before the flag off for the women’s and masters open criterium, with signs of on-coming rain. i was too slow for the first guy and settled for the second guy, who happened to be the cyclist with the camera.
probably after the 3rd or 4th lap, the rain came and we had to seek shelter first behind the podium, then the viewing gallery where i spent the remaining time in the event. i missed the kids race and the pro criterium, which is supposed to be the highlight for the day.
it would be great without the rain. on the contrary, i wouldn’t have met this cute little girl while hiding from the rain.
