long weekend escapade
the long weekend out of the country was a refreshing break, with no mobile internet connection or other forms of internet connection, the days were spent on food, fun and lots of rest. the sun was unforgiving, and we returned home with severe sun burnt, after the long walks along the shoreline. we watched the endless horizon, where the sky touches the sea, everyday, a scene unlike the beaches in singapore where ships dominated the “horizon”.
we dragged ourselves out of the bed, walked in darkness to the beach, for the our first sunrise in desaru.
there are 2 cafe/restaurant within the resort premises, the windows restaurant and the teppan. the former serves local and international delights, while the latter serves japanese cuisine. the main courses were good, the dessert was mediocre and the food waiting time was horrendous. we seat for up to 2 hours, on average, for our ala carte orders. i ordered the same main that i did from my last stay at the resort – the pulai nasi goreng.
the renovations are still in progress during our stay in the resort, and i noticed a stark contrast in the lobby area. it’s more airy with a relaxed atmosphere. the rooms are huge, even after fitting in 2 single beds, one sofa, coffee table and a mahjong table with 4 chairs. the carpet floor had been replaced with tiles, and the musky smell was undetected.
overall, the trip was a success and we are looking forward to our next trip, up north.
it is good 🙂
a must order local food on the menu.
the nasi goreng looks so yummy lol
