the real run 2011 – after
the weather on the day of the run, turned out to be the opposite from the forecasted weather of rain with thunder. the sun was not up when the 21km runners lined up behind the starting point. this would have been my first, to witness the flagoff, when the sun’s peeking from behind the clouds.
reluctant to pump up the iso, and without any flash to compensate for the insufficient light, i had to make do with the runners flagging off in motion.
the 10km flagoff was supposed to be flagged off less than 2 minutes to 7.00 am. as far as i can recall, the flagoff for last year was much later.
and 5 minutes after the flagoff, there were still runners who had not crossed the starting point.
the trail run was reduced to 2km, and the exit point was on the start of the 3km long run along aviation park road, towards the main road. unlike the nike city run last week, i spotted at least 3 barefoot runners. i’m impressed with barefoot runners, and imagine, running barefoot in the trail would have been a torture to the soles.
i’m getting used to be waiting at the sidelines, capturing the fleeting moments and the look on the runners’ faces before racing through the finishing line. another 2 months to get back in shape and to build up my stamina.
