on my runs
runkeeper on my iphone doesn’t help in detailing my runs, and with the constant “on” status plus gprs connection, the application sucks up a substantial amount of battery.
5km runs have been a norm for me and an upgrade to 10km still looks very far for me. the best time for my 5km run is only 45 minutes, considering the amount of effort and training i’d put into prior to the race. it’s cooler and more relax to run in the evenings. morning runs turn for the worst after the sun comes out in full force or if you encounter slight inclination. one should train progressively and to take at least 2 days of rest before the actual race.
nikerunning.com.sg portal provides some useful tips on training, nutrition and etc. there are also downloadable training plans for your runs. and to keep track of the distance ran, check out singapore mapometer.
the amount of calories and fats lost is available as well.
the distance indicated, covers the perimeter of the estate where i stay. i ran 3 rounds, which means the total distance ran was 3.06km. that’s the usual distance i managed to cover without stopping to a brisk walk. 7km of training, i need to pump in additional 4 runs before my next run on the last week of this month.
