low activity week
the most compelling reason for taking up pilates, is to help build up the core for my runs. no matter how easy the moves appear, i always returned home with aches over my abdominal muscles, triceps and back. triceps, mainly due to the plank and “superman” moves. pilates is also about body and mind integration, to bring forth the most benefit possible from each exercise.
the 101 in pilates, which we were made to perform in each class, is the “table top”, that will lead to “roll up” and “criss cross”.
my favourite to date is the swan dive, even though i had difficulties when i did that move 2 weeks ago.
with the sundown run this weekend, i’m moving to the next week without any running activity. my last walkathon home was a week ago, and my last run was last month!
one month of pilates, and i wonder how my run will fare next week.
