the long, lonely walk
i have been missing the weekly runs quite often. undeterred, i plotted 2 routes (8km and 11km) from office to the runner venue a while back, and anxious to attempt one of it to catch up with the team, should i am unable to leave the office on time.
as it turned out, i was handled with a task, the day before the run. the task ran without any glitches, and i was ready to start my walk, after stuffing the laptop and personal items into a haversack.
i underestimated the distance, and did not realise that, until i stopped the runkeeper at the destination.
(left – plotted manually on mapmyrun, right – the actual distance covered)
it took me about 1 hour 32 minutes to complete brisk walking/occasion slow jog. no wonder i started to feel the aches on my feet and shins along marymount road, and none of the nb runners were being spotted!
at least i arrived before the team was dismissed from the session. most importantly, i had a good workout and felt less guilty from the binge eating.
