Taipei 101 Starbucks

The admission ticket to the Taipei 101 observatory deck on the 89th floor is NT600. For a minimum of NT200 spent per pax, you get to enjoy a similar view from Starbucks on the 35th floor. Prior phone reservation must be made at least a day in advanced and ensure you are not late for the appointment. 2 of my travel companions were late, and they were only allowed access half an hour later, or after the staff completed all the orders for the batch.
 

 
We managed to secure the last appointment slot for the day at 5 pm. No more jostling for seats as queue numbers will be assigned to each reservation. We were fortunate to be assigned the second in the queue for a chance to grab the seats facing the windows. Typically, a drink and a snack (cakes, sandwiches, cookies) is sufficient to set you up for the minimum spend of NT200 per pax.
 

 
I would have preferred the afternoon slot. Due to the rain and the lack of lights from the buildings, the view looks dull.
 

 
The space is not large, that is why they only allow visitors up by appointments only and a time limit of 90 minutes. Those who work in the offices in Taipei 101 have unlimited access, and they have to cater to the office crowd too.
 
Surely Taipei 101 is not a place to missed for a first timer. Rather than waiting for the queue up and down the observatory, jostling for an Instagrammable shot, why not sit back, relax, enjoy your cup of coffee from Starbucks.
