if only photohunt theme is yellow
i was a little disappointed when the photohunt week theme is so close to the event this morning. the theme this week is orange while i had the first inaugural yellow prison run. the weather was good for running with the light drizzle and occasional breeze, which kept me cool throughout the race. my only complain was the slopes along the way – had the weather been hot, i wouldn’t have survived the 5.8km run without breaking into a walk.
the finishing line was different for the 5.8km free run and the 10km competitive run but both finishes were behind the changi prison walls. i’ve not been close to the prison in the past, let alone being inside the premises. security was tight and photography or video is strictly prohibited within the high fences.
the run received a host of generous sponsors and the runners were treated to yummy food and beverages – okie, i have to admit the only yummy treat is anderson ice cream! every runner will be entitled to a goodie bag, but unlike the other runs you have the option of exchanging the food and beverage coupon for another goodie bag, which we did.
on top of the goodies after the run, each participant will receive a personalized certificate with the run timings. cool – this is the run i attended with a running race tag and personalized certificate for a mere fun run. i am definitely looking forward to the certificate – hopefully with an improvement in my race timing.
