hollywood dinos

it was my first visit to the jurong bird park and it was not for the birds, but the dinosaurs in hollywood. tickets for the hollywood dinos were already on sale to the public through roadshows before the event on dec 12 2009.

the guided tour was 1 hour and towards the end of the visit, you have the opportunity to dig for fossils, buried in the sand pits. you start off with a customary photo shoot with the hollywood dinos poster as a backdrop. you can purchase the pictures, which include a 4R and 4 pocket-sized photos for SGD20, before exiting to the gift shop. i recognized some of the dinosaurs, as featured in jurassic park, but none can i remember the names except for the king of the dinosaurs…

the male and female t-rexes to welcome you into a dark cave where there are about 7 to 8 other dinosaurs. the weather was hot and my eyes couldn’t adjust well to the orange and green lights, reflecting onto the bodies of the dinosaurs, therefore, i can hardly produce any decent shots.

for SGD10 per adult (corporate rate i presume), i find the event is a little overrated. probably the kids will enjoy it more than the adults and maybe, i will enjoy my next photography session in hollywood dinos.
