matilda house

2 years ago, there were no tall bushes or lalang in the surrounding field. the dilapidated house has often been touted as haunted but attracts the paranormal investigators and photographers alike.a metal fence has now been erected around the matilda house to deter curious onlookers from entering the premises.

matilda house - state property

matilda house is one of the oldest building in Singapore. located in the northeastern part of the island, punggol, it was given conservation status by the URA in Feb 2000. the tropical bungalow, with 2 entrances on both sides of the main building, and a long verandah, was built in 1902 for Mr Joseph Cashin.

i took a good 30 minutes walk around the premises and was a little disappointed in the fencing, as i can’t zoom in close enough to capture the pillars that support the entire structure. it would be interesting and something worth looking forward to, on the future development or expansion of the house.
