ntuc u run + vertical climb
the omb challenge, which comprises of a 10km run and vertical climb up 30 storeys, managed to attract over 1,000 participants. jason lawrence, the only familiar participant and also the defending champion from men’s health urbanathlon was one of the runner in the first row. out of pure luck, the hubby appeared in one of my shots and there he is *waves*, the one in red!
after the flag off at 7.30 am, the entire atmosphere had softened, due to the complaints from the neighboring residential folks. the 10km competitive run was flagged of subsequently 15 minutes later. the usual faces spotted among the runners in the front row included vivien tang and mok ying ren. can you spot the event photographer, the guy in red and white polo-tshirt? apparently the runners were faster than him, and he was shoved, though not to the extend of getting knocked down
the pictures turned out to be a disaster. majority of the shots were OOF, and faces of the runners were either overexposed or filled with shadows. the farthest i can zoom is 75mm and with a crop body factor of 1.5, the ultimate zoom distance is only 112.5mm. majority of the post processing includes the cropping of the runners from the distracting background.
though disappointed with the shots, i’m glad to have befriended a sports photography enthusiast. the pictures captured really put a shame to mine. i’m still far from good but with constant practice, hopefully i will be able to sharpen my skills. unlike the subjects from candid shots, majority of the sports enthusiasts are more willing to be photographed.
