the urbanathlon – the women don’t get it
no doubt all the participants are male, the venue was also filled with women and kids, most of them cheering for their bf/husband/dad. it was a sea of black against the rising morning sun as we approached the starting line. the hubby skipped this race and we took the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the interest of photography.
the race were flagged off in different wave, each after every 5 minutes interval.
we were half way through to obstacle number 8 when the last wave ran passed us. it was impossible to follow through all the obstacle, and we stationed ourselves there, waiting for the first runner to appear.
jason lawrence – the defending champion emerged first place eventually.
some were delighted to have their pictures taken.
photographers, wives/gfs, were already lined up at the end of obstacle nine when we arrived. we managed to capture a couple of clear shots, before some wife/gf moved right up in front of us for their husband/bf.
for all of the runners, that was the last obstacle before dashing through the finishing line.
my 3rd sports photography without the 70-400 lens, and i’m glad i’d finally able to capture more decent shots. armed with my trusty tamron, i’m ready for another session tomorrow.
