the busy weekend

with the seemingly string of events every weekend, coupled with the looming datelines to meet at work, organization of the pictures took longer to process than usual.

my 2nd visit to USS was made possible with the complimentary tickets from the family day. i get to witness the twists and turns with people on the highly anticipated thrill ride – battlestar galactica.

prior to the visit, the hubby and i attended the record breaking stiletto run organized by class95fm. for the record, the run made it to the singapore book of records.

the singapore tribob sprint series, duathlon, was held in the heartlands of sengkang on sunday, april 3. thankfully the hubby and i were able to snooze in for an hour more before walking to the start point. we were blessed with the glow of the rising sun against the cloudless deep blue sky, a good start for the day.

the participants ranged from 8 year old kids to adults, and despite being a locally held event, caucasians were spotted among the participants. i learnt, later, from the sunday times article that there were youth participants from hong kong too.

that was the same guy from ocbc cycle held a month ago.

i ought to give myself a pat on the back, for the completion of my first 12km run in 2011 this morning. the weather was kind to the runners, with rain and light drizzle during parts of the run. training was less than a week before the race, and i’m glad to have trained for at least 10km. there were adequate hydration points but the volunteers couldn’t keep up with the rush of runners, and i helped myself to the cup and pocari in one of the stations.

my only complain throughout the race was the flight of steps from the marina bay sands to the helix bridge. i lost all feeling to my legs as i lifted my legs up the stairs.

another night trail run in the last weekend of the month, and that will conclude my runs in april.
