the mizuno mount faber run 2011
i was in a relaxed mode, and the insufficient sleep the previous night didn’t dampen my spirits. the weather was cool, a clear sign it was to be a good start for the runners. some of the usual suspects were spotted in the line up, hided behind the other runners. starting right in front of the pack doesn’t guarantee a top position and i couldn’t even spot jason lawrence, who was the first to cross the finishing line.
a dwarf among the giants, the girl, probably less than 12 years old, could have been the youngest participant.
it’s heart warming to see the father and daughter, running hand in hand after the flag off.
i didn’t spot many sport photography enthusiasts, as most of them were probably at swissotel for the vertical marathon. obviously, from the lack of practice and negligence, i made the silly mistake of shooting in non-servo mode, which resulted in blurry images. by the time i realized my foolishness, all my buddy runners had crossed me – meaning my job was completed for the day.
the hubby doubt i would be able to complete the race due to the uphill terrain, and i concurred to that. the look on the faces and the last 200m dash towards the finishing line were unforgettable.
maybe i will try once next year or the following year…maybe…
