garden in the lake

i have my fair share of frustration over the frequency of the map updates in our tiny island. it is common for me to switch between google maps and streetdirectory. while google provides me with an overview on the location, i am able to narrow down on the exact location on streetdirectory.

when my colleague told me he ran around jurong lake, i had the impression he was running in the compound of the chinese garden. i felt like a turtle in the well, when i discovered today – YES, just today, that the chinese garden and the japanese garden are in the middle of jurong lake. both gardens have been around since i was young, and the hubby and i made our first ever trip together, to examine the jurong lake run route and prepare ourselves for the run this sunday.

the familiar structures in the chinese garden sprung back into my memories.

the maps from flickr are outdated and i ended up tagging the photos in the lake.

ironically, that was how i came to know about the exact location of the chinese and japanese garden, on the map.
