the magnetic lens for mobile phone
my iphone 4 has inadvertently been used as my secondary camera. the mobile phone is a must have accessory for me, and i carry it with me all the time, whenever i am out. i first chanced upon the jelly lens, with a collection of the different special effects, for used on mobile devices. it has an a self adhesive ring made of silicon that can be reused and does not leave a sticky residue when removed, and the lens if made of acrylic. i was initially interested to obtain a set, but put it off because there are apps available to create the type of lomo, or fish eye effects.
after reading the review of the magnetic lens, and the sample images captured, i was totally awed by the prowess of the macro lens. the macro lens is actually a conversion lens, with a detachable wide angle lens. each set of lens come with 2 metal self adhesive rings, to be attached around the built-in lens on the mobile phone. i bought a set of wide-angle/macro lens and fish-eye lens from the local online photography community.

the lens are of aluminium, and looks exactly like miniature lens, with a lens cover for the top and a magnetic cover for the bottom. overall, the lenses work well and i can’t wait to test out the macro shots on flowers and insects, and also landscape shots. maybe another visit to the punggol waterfront?
