trail-ed it

i had a love and hate relationship with trail runs. maybe it’s more on fear than the hate. i’m fearful of snakes, and tripping/rolling over from the gravel and uneven surfaces.

my first experience with trail run was during the cross country event in the secondary school that i attended. the annual internal competition was held once a year in macritchie reservoir. the boys would compete in the 4.8 km distance, while the distance for the girls was reduced by 1.2 km.

i have never been a fast jogger and i was far slower back in my secondary days, considering an increase of 30% in weight over the years.

this is the first of the training for the frost and sullivan run on the last Saturday of the month.

counting down to the actual race day – i will not come in top, but will i be lucky enough to walk away with a lucky draw prize, just like what i did 2 years ago?
