the feast, the last week, and the countdown
this march is the turning point of my career, as i finally ditched my current job of 13 years to embark onto a new journey in another company. almost a week long feast ensued. there’s little wonder the additional bulk appearing around my tummy. to the clueless, they might have mistaken it for another joyous affair.
the first meal was at the salt tapas & bar, an Australian twist to the modern tapas bar. my fond memories of a tapas bar, was the standing tapas bars in Barcelona, which served sticks of meat/seafood on a slice of baguette, and placed on the top of the drink – wine or beer.
anyway, back to the food at salt tapas. tiny portions of tapas, coupled with sangria were ordered and shared amongst the table. the notable dishes included the wagyu sausage, crispy soft shell prawns, pork belly and the gooey chocolate tart with caramelized banana and white chocolate ice-cream.

it is a lovely place to unwind on a Monday evening, despite facing the hustle and bustle of the city. a precious catch up time, even though we worked in the same office, but hardly meet up for lunches. i reckon there will be so much to catch up on, in our next meetup. over the years, the “old” staff had left for greener pastures, and we will make an effort, at least once a year, to update our lives over high teas or dinners.
my 4th and final visit to greenhouse with my colleagues. i fell in love with the variety of oysters offered on my first visit. the buffet spread appeared to have shrunk. however, the spread does include fresh seafood, sashimi, lots of variety of beef, cheese section, delectable nonya kuehs, cakes, and my dessert – ice cream! i spotted the cheese section after finishing my last serving of the salmon, and had room only for cream. 🙁

as one of my colleague put it, “poor angie, you wanted 13 years for this meal”. a lovely fine dining experience atop the 61st storey of Republic Plaza, with an awesome view of the marina bay sands and city view.
tower club – atlantic dining bar (from left to right): wagyu striploin, warm tiramisu

i’m now counting down to the final week…the taste of freedom is just 4 days away…
